The device (1) has a control unit connected with a display unit (2) to implement a user interface having display-and control contexts, where the control unit selects one of the contexts. The control unit controls graphical representation of information associated to the selected context on a display surface (3). The contexts are linked with each another in a closed chain, where a control direction that is oriented along the chain exists. The control unit detects a control request for operation along the direction, where a display-and control text adjacent to the selected text is selected.
