The method involves producing a thin layer (106) by partially immersing one of the components (102,104) to be sealed in a liquid starting material or by spraying a liquid starting material on a part of one of the components to be sealed. The thin layer consists of glass material or ceramic material. The component provided with the thin layer is soldered with another component to be sealed by a metallic solder. A metallic coating is produced on the thin layer before soldering with the other component.
