The invention relates to a method for actuating peripheral devices (24, 25) via a clock-synchronously operating bus system (29), wherein within an interpolation clock target values are transmitted to the peripheral devices (24, 25), actual values are returned from said peripheral devices (24, 25), and at a defined time within the interpolation clock at least one enable signal applicable to all peripheral devices (24) that are directly connected to the clock-synchronously operating bus system (29) is transmitted via the clock-synchronously operating bus system (29), whereby the target values of all peripheral devices (24) directly connected to the clock-synchronously operating bus system (29) are enabled at the same time, or substantially at the same time, and wherein at a defined time within the interpolation clock an enable signal is transmitted by a bus converter (23, 30) to at least one third-party peripheral device (25), which is not compatible with the clock-synchronously operating bus system (29) and is connected thereto by means of the bus converter (23, 30), and either the transmission of said enable signal by the bus converter (23, 30), or by a bus master (20) of the clock-synchronously operating bus system (29), is delayed by a latency, or the enabling of the target values to the peripheral devices (24) or third-party peripheral device (25) is delayed by a latency after receipt of the enable signal, whereby the target values of the at least one third-party peripheral device (25) are enabled at the same time, or substantially at the same time, as the peripheral devices (24) connected directly to the clock-synchronously operating bus system (29).
