In coherent light receivers, reception performance deteriorates and sufficient demodulation cannot be achieved when inter-lane skewing occurs. For this reason, this coherent light receiver is provided with a local light source, a 90-degree hybrid circuit, a photoelectric converter, an analog-to-digital converter, a skewing unit, and an FFT calculating unit. The 90-degree hybrid circuit allows local light from the local light source to interfere with multiplexed light signals, and outputs a plurality of light signals separated into a plurality of signal components. The photoelectric converter detects the light signals, and outputs electric detection signals. The analog-to-digital converter digitizes the electric detection signals and outputs digital detection signals. Based on the skew, which is the difference in the propagation delay of each lane connected to the output lanes of the 90-degree hybrid circuit, the skewing unit adds, to the digital detection signals, an imparted skew which has the opposite sign from the skew and has an absolute value equal to the skew.
