Disclosed are a distributed storage system and a method for distributed storing of an object in the distributed storage system. The method for distributed storing comprises the following steps: authenticating a client; generating a regional group by grouping data nodes by regions based on the location information of each of the data nodes; deciding a regional group for deciding the regional group to which a target data node belongs, a target object to be stored on the target data node, when the target object exists; deciding the target data node for deciding one data node as the target data node from the data nodes belonging to the same regional group; storing the target object on the target data node; and renewing the metadata for renewing metadata using the unique information of the target object and the unique information of the data node on which the target object is stored. According to the present invention, reliability is enhanced even when a problem occurs in one of the regions, because actual copies are safely and regionally distributed and stored as a result of data node grouping. Also, by arranging the object on a data node which is physically close to the location of the client, the delay in storing and inquiring the object can be minimized.
