摘要

The purpose of the invention is to provide a transformant of yeast of the genus Schizosaccharomyces capable of producing a modified-type β-glucosidase with improved glucosidase activity, a method for producing the transformant, a method for producing the modified-type β-glucosidase, and a method for decomposing cellulose using the modified-type β-glucosidase. The transformant of yeast of the genus Schizosaccharomyces has a structural gene sequence containing a coding region for a modified-type β-glucosidase obtained by introducing at least one mutation among specific mutations into a filamentous fungus-derived β-glucosidase, and a promoter sequence and a terminator sequence for expressing the structural gene in a chromosome or as an extrachromosomal gene, and is characterized in that the modified-type β-glucosidase has higher thermostability or higher resistance to glucose inhibition than a β-glucosidase which does not have the specific mutations.
