Embodiments of the present invention relate to a power distribution apparatus using a convergence of smart LED lighting and renewable energy and a driving method thereof, and a protective circuit for a power distribution apparatus using a convergence of smart LED lighting and renewable energy and a driving method thereof. A power distribution apparatus using a convergence of smart LED lighting and renewable energy, according to an embodiment of the present invention, comprises: a power management part for generating and storing power for driving a lamp; a protective circuit part for generating a plurality of detection signals by detecting abnormalities of different characteristics in the power management part, generating logic signals by combining the detection signals with combinational logic, and providing a logic signal when a logic signal is requested to determine the abnormality of the power management part; a key input part for issuing an initialization command to detect the abnormality of the power management part, and providing input signals for detecting abnormalities with different characteristics when the detection signals are combined using a combinational logic after the initialization; and a control part for initializing at the initialization command, requesting and receiving the logic signal, and controlling the power management part on the basis of the logic signal.
