The present invention provides a train-ground wireless communication system for rail transit and a cellular handover method thereof. The system and method utilize the moving direction and location parameters of a train to perform cellular handover without detecting received signal level, signal quality and timing advance. The present invention can effectively improve the accuracy of cellular handover, avoid unnecessary handover, enhance data transmission reliability of wireless communications, save the cost of base station device, reduce the operating cost, contribute to the implementation of new wireless coverage means, and enrich wireless network solutions.
