COOLING TOWER HAVING DRY SENSIBLE AND EVAPORATIVE HEAT EXCHANGE SECTIONS

PURPOSE: A cooling tower is provided to easily increase the cooling percent of a load supplied by a cooling tower in a dry sensible heat exchange section.;CONSTITUTION: A cooling tower comprises an enclosure, an upper section(14), a lower section(20), a water distribution system, and first and second air inlet louvers. The enclosure has an air inlet and an air outlet. The upper section has a dry sensible heat exchange section. The lower section has an evaporative heat exchange section. The water distribution system comprises a collection sump, a supply line, a distribution line(24), and multiple openings. Water collected in the sump is distributed to the top of the evaporative heat exchange section through the openings. The first air inlet louver allows air to pass through the inner side of the lower section and the evaporative heat exchange section. The second air inlet louver increases or decrease the flow of air passing through the dry sensible heat exchange section.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
