PURPOSE: A method for dispersing low pressure ultraviolet ray lamp and a ballast water treating apparatus based on ultraviolet ray using the same are provided to effectively sterilize microorganisms contained in ballast water.;CONSTITUTION: A plurality of low pressures ultraviolet ray lamps(3) is dispersed in a housing(2). The housing includes an inlet(2a) and an outlet(2b). Ballast water is introduced into the housing through the inlet and is the form of a cylinder. One lamp of the low pressure ultraviolet ray lamps is arranged at the inner center part of the housing. Remaining lamps are radially arranged based on the inner center part of the housing.
