PURPOSE: A vehicle control device having a door catch button and method thereof are provided to unlock a door of a vehicle when a smart control unit receives an authentication confirm signal corresponding to an authentication request signal from a smart key.;CONSTITUTION: A vehicle control device comprises a smart control unit(200) and smart function processing unit(500). The smart control unit unlocks a door of a vehicle by performing an authentication of a smart key(100) when receiving trigger signals from a door catch button(300). When the authentication is not performed, the smart control unit transmits the trigger signals transmitted from the smart control unit to the smart function processing unit. The smart function processing unit analyzes the trigger signals transmitted from the door catch button and performs a smart function according to the analyzed result when receiving the trigger signals from the smart control unit.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
