PURPOSE: An operating method of a heating furnace for reducing scales formed at high temperatures is provided to reduce fuel consumption of a heating furnace by properly controlling H2/H2O and CO/CO2 to maintain a weak reducing atmosphere.;CONSTITUTION: An operating method of a heating furnace for reducing scales formed at high temperatures is as follows. The volume ratio of fuel and air after combustion of a soaking zone in a heating furnace is controlled to maintain H2/H2O of 0.02-0.4. The ratio of CO/CO2 is maintained at 0.05-1.05 to reduce the production of scales. The total H2O after combustion is 30vol.% or less.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
