PURPOSE: A light emitting diode of an area division type and a light emitting diode package thereof are provided to improve optical extraction efficiency by increasing a light emission area of a light emitting structure.;CONSTITUTION: A first electrode(21) is electrically connected to a first conductivity type semiconductor layer. A second electrode(22) is electrically connected to a second conductivity type semiconductor layer. The second electrode has a finger extended in a direction facing a bonding pad and the first electrode. A current spreading layer(30) is located on the second conductivity type semiconductor layer and includes a first area formed in the direction of one side of the finger and a second area formed in the other side direction of the finger based on the direction facing the first electrode.
