PURPOSE: An ontology-based context awareness system for facility management and a method thereof for defining a facility as concept and building the relation between concepts as ontology are provided to analyze context information collected through sensors and infer appropriate countermeasure. CONSTITUTION: A context information provider(101) provides context information about facilities. A semantic meta database(109) stores semantic meta data. The semantic meta data defines the facilities as concept and defines at least one instance included in each concept. If the pre-defined context predefined about the facilities generates, a regulation database(111) stores the regulation applied to the context. The regulation database stores the regulation applied to the context.
