PURPOSE: A device and method for estimating an elbow flexion force using mechanomyogram are provided to estimate the elbow flexion force through the mechanomyogrm and neural network algorithm. CONSTITUTION: A mechanomyogram signal(110) is attached to the muscle surface of the upper limbs and obtains a plurality of mechanomyograms. A signal processor(120) removes a signal of a specific frequency band. A property extracting unit(130) calculates the absolute average of the obtained mechanomyogrms. A force signal estimating unit(140) estimates the absolute average as the force signal by an artificial neural network algorithm. A display unit(150) displays the force signal to a subject.
