PURPOSE: An optical fiber monitoring system is provided to independently construct a system which is unnecessary to mutually communicate with an optical transmission apparatus using a common protocol.;CONSTITUTION: A sub OTDR(Optical Time Domain Reflectometry) of a monitoring control apparatus(402) measures a distance of an end point and an error point in an optical fiber. The sub OTDR confirms errors of each optical fiber. A main optical switch(404) of the monitoring control apparatus connects a main OTDR(403) to the sub OTDR. The main optical switch receives the monitoring light of the main OTDR from a common input port. The main optical switch switches the monitoring light to a desired output port. A sub optical switch(406) of the monitoring control apparatus switches the monitoring light of the sub OTDR and the monitoring light of the main OTDR to a measurement target optical fiber.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
