FIELD: machine building.;SUBSTANCE: level of residual stresses on surface of item is assessed by change of recorded values of material hardness in local zones at making parallel cuts. Cuts at made at angle 90° relative to each other orienting them in the most probable direction of effect of main stresses.;EFFECT: operative control of level of residual stresses in material of structure or item under plant conditions during their manufacture and at their operation.;1 dwg
