FIELD: physics.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to detection of targets on aircraft flying on ballistic and aeroballistic trajectories with rising height of not less than 20 km. Such a position of the fuselage of the aircraft is maintained until the end of locating the zone of the target or until detection and identification of the target, after which the aircraft is switched to the initial flight position. When locating ground and sea targets on lateral and front-lateral aspects, scanning of the zone of the target is carried out in lateral scanning mode, including with use of antenna aperture synthesising, with the flight position of the fuselage which maximises aerodynamic quality of the aircraft. If there are no targets in the scanning zone, the heading and/or roll of the aircraft is changed so as to scan the neighbouring zone of probable location of a target. The heading of the aircraft is changed by pulsed switching of the cruise engine unit. Also, the heading and/or roll of the aircraft is changed using control parts.;EFFECT: invention enables location of ground and sea objects with high-altitude ballistic and aeroballistic flight trajectories in both the front and lateral aspect view.;6 cl, 3 dwg
