The device (1) has a C-arm (2) displaceably guided at a support (3) i.e. pipe. A radiation source (6) and a photon detector (7) are arranged in opposite manner at the ends of the C-arm. The radiation source and the detector are connected to the cables (8) with the C-arm from outside. The cables are arranged at a movable cable support i.e. carriage (9) along the C-arm and in a hollow portion of the C-arm, where the carriage is guided on rails or a guide channel, and the cable support is arranged at the inner radius of the C-arm.
