The tool has a die (1) comprising a surface to cut a fiber multi-ply fabric. A cutting knife is moved relative to the die, and cuts a fiber fabric along a cutting line i.e. closed three-dimensional running cutting line, where the die is made of steel. The die comprises a groove-like recess (2) running along the cutting line, where a wire-like back pressure element (3) is arranged cooperatively with the knife in the recess. The back pressure element is made of metal. The knife occupies a cutting position in which a cutting edge of the knife penetrates into the back pressure element.
