The method involves determining initial dosage values of X-ray radiation (2) from X-ray source (1) towards examination object (3) in radiation measuring chamber (4). The successive dosage values are determined by estimating dead time of delivered X-ray doses in the measuring chamber. The total dosage of X-ray radiation is determined by accumulation of the initial and successive dosage values. An independent claim is included for X-ray device.
