The vehicle has a convertible cover (22) movable from a closed position to a lowered open position, where the convertible cover is arranged in a roof box (18). The roof box is adjusted between a down position (U) and an upper position according to reaching of the lowered open position of the cover. The roof box is lockable in the upper position. The cover is decoupled for adjusting the roof box of the body of the motor vehicle. The roof box is arranged in a region of a boot (20) of the motor vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a convertible cover of a motor vehicle.
