The device (18) has a wind guide element (20) i.e. wind deflector, arranged in a region of an upper end of a windscreen (16). The guide element is excited in an oscillating manner to influence wind flow in the region of the upper end of the windscreen, where frequency of oscillation of the guide element is changed based on an operational parameter i.e. inner pressure, in a passenger space, or driving speed, of a motor vehicle. The guide element is adjusted between a passive position and a wind guidance position. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling of a wind guide device for an opened motor vehicle such as cabriolet.
