The method involves conveying fuel i.e. petrol, from a fuel reservoir (34) into a burner region (26) by using a fuel delivery assembly (32). A drive device (20) is utilized for driving a fuel burning heater (24), an electrically operated heater (30) e.g. positive temperature coefficient heater, and the fuel delivery assembly. Fuel is filled into the reservoir, where input amount of filled fuel and/or amount of fuel contained in the reservoir represents amount of fuel information over a fuel amount information input unit (38) during filling the fuel into the reservoir. An independent claim is also included for a heating system.
