The plunger (1) has a housing (3) arranged in a guide bore of an internal combustion engine through an outer sheath (2). A roller (7) is arranged in a region of a final forehead (4) of the plunger. The roller is rotatably extended on a slide bearing (5) by a pin (6) that is arranged in a retainer (8) i.e. hole, of the housing. A plunger follower system (10) is arranged in a portion of another final forehead (9) of the plunger. A passage (11) is formed on the outer sheath or the latter forehead to supply pressurized oil to the bearing. The bearing is lubricated with pressurized oil.
