The machine (1) has a rotor shaft (3) for supporting a rotor (2). Groove-like regions (23A, 23B) are arranged in a contact region (26) that is provided between the rotor and the rotor shaft, where the groove-like regions face an outer surface (22) of the rotor shaft and an inner surface (31) of the rotor. Fluid for regulating operating temperature of the rotor shaft and the rotor is guided through the groove-like regions. The fluid is introduced into the groove-like regions via holes (29, 30) that extend in the rotor shaft.
