The device (1) has an indicator plate (6) i.e. registration plate, fixed to a vehicle (2). An illumination device is mounted on a top portion of the plate. Three-dimensional (3D) indicator symbols (8) are arranged on the indicator plate. Light conducting edges of a light guide plate are distributed with light-scattering nanoparticles. A perforated retroreflector film is arranged between the indicator plate and the 3D indicator symbols. The illumination device in placed in a receiving pocket of a label frame (3). An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an indicator device for a vehicle.
