The drive has a synchronous motor (4) equipped from a spindle bearing housing (6). A cylindrical-shaped outer stator is arranged with a permanent magnet. A central rotor (12) is arranged within the outer stator. The stator is provided with windings (14) with a core (18) made from ferrite material e.g. rare-earth oxide ceramics. A shaft provides support for the respective windings, where the stator is made of the ferrite material. The stator is faced toward rotor winding teeth, where the core includes receptacles and segments with a T-shaped cross-section.
