The metallic particles are formed on a solid support based on oxide, for example, of silica, by in situ reduction of metal ions and the fastening of the said metallic particles on the support in a single step. This step consists in contacting the metal ions with the support, that - latter having previously been functionalized in a manner appropriate. More particularly, the support is functionalized by covalent bonds by two specific and different types of chemical functions. The first function used is a chemical function chelating to the metal ions and / or to the corresponding metal to metal ions, while the second function is a function of reducing chemical for metal ions. By way of example, the first function may be a thiol and the second function may be the ethylene diamine.
