The roof (2) has rails arranged parallely to each other. A fabric (20) forming the roof is fixed along an edge of a front crosspiece (24). The fabric covers an opening defined between the rails. A rear crosspiece (25) is fixed to the fabric in an intermediate position. A rear carriage is mounted slidingly in one of the rails and connected to one of ends of the rear crosspiece. The carriage has a locking mechanism for locking the rear crosspiece on one of the rails, where handling of the mechanism is controlled by displacement of the front crosspiece in the rails. A back window (23) extends under the rear crosspiece.
