The method involves regulating a turbomachine implemented by an application software module executed by an electronic control unit when an aircraft is not in a ground, where the software module is developed in accordance with an assurance standard under development. A maintenance test is realized by another application software module when the aircraft is in the ground. The latter software module developed in accordance with another assurance standard under development is executed (E3) when input conditions are verified. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a control program comprising a set of instructions to perform a control method (2) an electronic control unit comprising a memory (3) an engine for an aircraft, comprising a turbomachine.
