The present invention relates to novel strains of microalgae of the genus botryococcus, capable of growing in mixotrophic. These strains selected by a method using a supply of light in the form of flashes, are particularly suitable for the production of lipids and of hydrocarbons, in particular botryococcenes, useful for the production of biofuels.
