The method involves transmitting error data that is representative of an error value equal to difference between a measurement taken by a digital sensor (CN), and a theoretical value for a selected characteristic point to a controller (CA1). Another error value is equal to difference between another measurement taken by the sensor, and another selected characteristic point, and primary data representative of the measurement. The primary data is corrected as a function of error data to produce corrected primary data. An independent claim is also included for a digital sensor.
