PSOLUTION: A road white line candidate point is extracted from an image obtained by photographing a road in the periphery of a vehicle, and a road curve as a curve corresponding to a road white line position is detected based on the extracted road white line candidate point. In this case, a plurality of displacement points specifying the road curve are set, and at least one of the plurality of displacement points is set as a reference point, and any offset displacement point other than the reference point is defined as offset amounts from a first straight line passing through the reference point.
