PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transaction apparatus (ATM) 100 capable of reducing damage that an operator suffers even though the operator leaves a valuable value recording medium behind. PSOLUTION: In the ATM 100, a valuable value adding means adds a valuable value to the valuable value recording medium. Then, the ATM 100 detects, when the valuable value recording medium is left behind, that the valuable value recording medium is left behind. In the ATM 100, a valuable value deducting means deducts a valuable value from the detected valuable value recording medium left behind. Thus, from the detected valuable value recording medium left behind, the deducted valuable value is protected even though a third person carries away the valuable value recording medium.
