PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for searching a material capable of being an active ingredient for preventing or treating the onset or progress of diabetic nephropathy; to provide a method for selecting a patient having high latent risk of developing the diabetic nephropathy; and to provide a reagent kit capable of being effectively utilized for the method.;SOLUTION: The method for screening the active ingredient of an anti-diabetic nephropathy agent includes the following steps: (1) a step for bringing a test material into contact with a cell capable of expressing an ACC-β gene; (2) a step for measuring the expression level of the ACC-β gene of the cell brought into contact with the test material; and (3) a step for selecting the test material having the measured value smaller than the expression level of the ACC-β gene of a control cell not contacted with the test material.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
