PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismic strengthening structure which can seismically strengthen a column, even when the column is partially buried in ground and all sediment around the column cannot be removed, and to provide a method for constructing the seismic strengthening structure.;SOLUTION: In this seismic strengthening structure 1 of a viaduct 2, a road-side lateral surface 3a of each of the columns 3 on the side of a road 5 is equipped with a first reinforcing member 4 which is provided in a predetermined range along the longitudinal direction (i.e. vertical direction), and a second reinforcing member 6 which is wound and erected above the first reinforcing member 4 in such a manner as to surround the outer periphery of the column 3 of a section 3e without having the first reinforcing member 4.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
