PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recognition device capable of carrying out processing in a short time while improving gesture recognition accuracy, and an image recognition method, an image recognition program, a gesture operation recognition system, a gesture operation recognition method and a gesture operation recognition program. PSOLUTION: The gesture operation recognition program JP includes an image recognition program IP and a gesture discrimination program RP. The image recognition program IP has: an imaging means 10 picking up the image of the same user by a first digital camera 3A and a second digital camera 3B; a detecting means 11 comparing image information at the same time of the day to identify a user area UA and a background area BA; and a specifying means 12 further detecting a user head area A1 and a hand area A2 from the user area UA and computing three-dimensional coordinates of feature points P1, P2 of the areas A1, A2.
