PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens that has a vibration-proof function having back focus sufficiently long to be used in a digital single lens reflex camera, and a wide view angle at the wide angle end, and to provide an imaging apparatus, and so on. PSOLUTION: The zoom lens includes, in order from the object side, a first lens group G1 with positive refractive power, a second lens group G2 with negative refractive power, a third lens group G3 with positive refractive power, a fourth lens group G4 with negative refractive power, and a fifth lens group G5 with positive refractive power. When power varies from the wide angle end to the telephoto end, an interval between the first lens group G1 and the second lens group G2 increases, an interval between the second lens group G2 and the third lens group G3 decreases, an interval between the third lens group G3 and the fourth lens group G4 increases, and an interval between the fourth lens group G4 and the fifth lens group G5 decreases. By moving the entire fourth lens group G4 in a direction almost perpendicular to an optical axis, an image face is corrected due to the occurrence of a camera shake.
