Composite of incompressible filler, fibres and foamed plastic

A method of making a member comprising the steps of: incorporating fibers (102) and substantially incompressible filler material (100) into a foam material (104) at a selected percentage rate with respect to volume for lowering the overall density of the structural core material; and feeding the foam material into a die. The fibers contact and adhere to at least some of the filler material to act as anchoring members to the fibers. The filler material interacts with the fibers throughout the foam material.
