593745 Disclosed is an apparatus for repairing and/or inflating a damaged and/or deflated inflatable article such as a vehicle tyre by injecting a sealing fluid, and to allow the apparatus to replace a spare wheel. The apparatus includes a first container for receiving and retaining for dispensing a sealant composition, and also includes a vessel for containing the sealant composition, the vessel including an externally threaded neck portion defining an opening, and sealing means to close the opening. The sealing means includes a main body portion which is closed at one end thereof and is adapted to be located within the neck portion of the vessel. The main body portion of the sealing means including a peripheral flange at the other, free end thereof. The neck portion of the vessel further includes an internal step which, in use, constitutes a seating for the peripheral flange of the sealing means; a second container including a compressor assembly which is releasably connectable to the first container. The compressor assembly includes a housing for a compressor; and means allowing for controlled dispensing of the sealant composition from the first container to the inflatable article, wherein the dispensing means, with the interposition of valve means, defines a seating for the first container. The neck portion of the vessel includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced-apart splines extending substantially longitudinally thereof. The sealing means includes at least one line of weakening extending around at least part of the periphery thereof and includes at least one pair of diametrically opposed protrusions extending along at least part of the length of the main body portion thereof.
