Producing dry ice snow, comprises: feeding of liquid carbon dioxide; and expanding the carbon dioxide in such a manner that results in a mixture of carbon dioxide gas and carbon dioxide snow. The carbon dioxide snow is produced in a predetermined amount and is delivered with a given frequency and quantity. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a procedure for cleaning surfaces by using the dry ice snow, comprising producing carbon dioxide snow from liquid carbon dioxide, introducing the carbon dioxide snow in a carrier gas flow, feeding the carrier gas flow with carbon dioxide snow to a nozzle, preferably a laval nozzle and to an output aperture, and directing the flow leaving the output aperture on the surface to be cleaned, where the flow is moved preferably over the surface; (2) a device (10) for producing dry ice snow, comprising a feed line for liquid carbon dioxide, the expansion device and a discharge unit for the carbon dioxide snow; and (3) a device for cleaning of surfaces by using dry ice snow, comprising the device for producing dry ice snow, a device for dispensing the dry ice snow in a carrier gas flow, a device for feeding the carrier gas flow with dry ice snow to a nozzle, preferably a laval nozzle and to an output aperture and a device for directing the flow leaving the output aperture to the surface to be purified.
