A roller separator comprises a magnet system with a ferromagnetic roller mounted with a gap and with possibility of rotation, whose outer surface is made in the form of projections tapered towards the inner surface of the magnetic system, said tapered projections are made in the form of tapered studs arranged in longitudinal rows that are displaced along the ferromagnetic roller relative to each other by a half of pitch between the studs. The recesses between the studs partially or over the entire height of studs are filled with nonmagnetic electrically non-conductive material. The roller separator is also equipped with a tensioning drum and a flexible belt, in the gap between the magnetic system and roller surface deflectors are mounted.
