METHOD FOR producing MONOLITHIC titanium nitride

A method for producing monolithic titanium nitride by electrodischarge sintering a powder of titanium nitride. Titanium nitride powder of nonstoichiometric composition is used as starting material, this powder is preliminary produced by the electric discharge treatment of titanium in a liquid nitrogen. The powder sintering is carried out at a temperature of 1400- and a pressure of 90-110 MPa during 60-300 min.
