A process for separating glyoxylic acid starting from an aqueous reaction medium containing ácidoglioxílico and hydrochloric acid, comprising a step of stripping off in contracorrientevapor water reaction medium in order to obtain, on the one hand, a gaseous phase ácidoclorhídrico containing volatile and, moreover, a liquid phase containing the purified glyoxylic acid.
