摘要
A computer implemented process (Fig. 1) is provided for assessing andcharacterizingthe degree of success or failure of an operational event of a machine systemsuch as afluid compressor machine or turbine machine or the like on a continuousnumericalscale. The computer implemented process develops and tracks machine unitsignatures, machine site signatures and machine fleet signatures (110,120) toevaluatevarious operational events (140,150) and provide fault detection (130,160). Atleastsome sensor data acquired from the machine system during an operational eventistransformed to correct or at least reduce variabilities in the data caused byambientconditions and fuel quality. The transformed data is then analyzed usingstatisticalmethods to determine how closely the operational event conforms to an expectednormal behavior and the information is used to develop a single comprehensivequality assessment of the event. By saving, tracking and updating operationaleventassessments over time, machine/component degradation may be recognized at anyearly stage and corrective action may be initiated in advance of acatastrophic failure.
