A process for joining ceramic components, wherein thecomponents which are to be joined consist of sinterednonoxide ceramic, and the components are brought intocontact with one another in a diffusion-welding processin the presence of a shielding gas atmosphere and arejoined with little deformation, under the applicationof a temperature of at least 1600°C, preferably over1800°C, particularly preferably over 2000°C, and ifappropriate a load, to form a monolith, the componentswhich are to be joined experiencing plastic deformationin the direction in which force is introduced of lessthan 5%, preferably less than 1%.
