In one aspect, a method includes receiving a seat requestformultiple seats, and, in response to receiving the seat request, calculatingfactorsassociated with each seat in a set of eligible seats. The method includesdefining aninitial set of seats as a subset of the set of eligible seats, defining a setof factors foreach seat in the initial set of seats, associating a priority with themultiple factor sets,where the factors include multiple contiguity and vacancy factors, thecontiguity factorsbeing of a higher priority than the vacancy factors. The method includesprocessing thefactors based on the priority to identify an anchor seat from the initial setof seats,assigning the multiple seats based on the anchor seat.
