#$%^&*AU2012101475A420121115.pdf#####Abstract A low cost smart power meter for in-line in-wall applications consists of at least one smart power meter which needs to be connected in series to the to be monitored power line and one receiver that is connected to a computer. The smart power meter comes with an internal 5 power supply which allows it to run without a battery. This enables the smart power meter to operate without any maintenance which is the key feature for an in-wall application. The power usage data can be pre analyzed by the smart power meter in order to use the internal memory more efficiently.
