Disclosed are a method for implementing a multimedia conference and a multimedia conference platform. The method comprises the following steps: after a multimedia conference is established, if a calling request for an extension of a switchboard is received in the meeting process, a private call session for calling the extension of the switchboard is established for the originator of the calling request, and then a process for calling the extension of the switchboard is triggered. With the invention, the extension of the switchboard is enabled to be called by conference participants by means of voice navigation in the process of the multimedia conference, and the communication is enabled to be individually performed between the participants and the called extension.
